Praise the Lord!

January 8, 2014.

“And when he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. When he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples,saying, “Go into the village in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’” So those who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them. And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” And they said, “The Lord has need of it.” And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it. And as he rode along, theyspread their cloaks on the road. As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”
(Luke 19:28-40)

“I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”

Praise the Lord, near and far,
On mountain tops, and though forest glades.
Praise the Lord, you rocks and trees,
As the horizon sun slowly fades.

Hallelujah to the King of kings,
by whom all we see was made.
Hallelujah to the Lord of Lords,
from every mouth, be it fool or sage.

May all creation rejoice,
and sing praises to his name.
Mall all nations everywhere sing
with one voice, the message same.

Lord, to you be the glory forever amen.
To you be majesty lifted high.
Our mouths are unclean, our lips too soiled,
to let your name pass idly by.

Let no man be silent,
Let no man miss;
Let every one see,
Your eternal bliss.

The heavens call out your wonder.
All creation acclaims.
Rocks and hills and tress and streams,
give you glory, honor and fame.

“In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
the whole earth is full of his glory!”

And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.””
(Isa. 6:1-7)

Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. Praise his name, from your innermost soul. Praise his holy name. All creation does; will you?
