Revive us again.

August 1, 2014.

Wake up your people from among your fold,
Work a work unbelievable if told!
Revive our spirit, restore our zeal,
Awaken us from our inner soul.

We have forgotten and gone far astray,
Wake us up, wake us up today!
There is work to be done, lost to be saved,
Lord, turn not your face away.

There was a time when truth was found,
Righteousness sought all world round.
Give us again to this hopeful thirst,
Lord, let us hear your trumpet sound!

Black, black is the dark of night,
When we, your people, seek no light.
Turn us once again by your mighty hand,
and end apathy’s most frightful plight.

Move the masses, let us see!
Call back the glory set for thee!
May those your bear your name worldwide,
bow down to you on bended knee.

Save, O save, Lord hear our cry,
Pour living water in the well gone dry.
We know not our dreadful stance,
as days, months and years go by.

“Revive us again, fill each heart with your praise!”
Let us seek you all of our days!
Turn your ear to our blending voices,
as to you a new song we raise.

Start within us a work for you,
Let it grow, refresh us anew.
Let us turn the hearts of men,
to give to you the honor due.

O God, Lord of all creation above and below,
Father, on us your Spirit bestow.
Stir us up to work for you,
let the number of the ransomed grow!
