Thank you, Lord.

August 12, 2014.

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    for his steadfast love endures forever!”
(Psalm 118:1)

Today is a day of thanksgiving to the Lord. Let all the earth praise his name. Look into your life and count the blessings, though they may be without number, that come from the Lord. Every good and every perfect gift comes from above, and we are so richly blessed. Give thanks to the Lord, all you who call upon his name. Give thanks to the Lord, praising him for who he is and what he has done for us.

“Let Israel say,
    “His steadfast love endures forever.”
Let the house of Aaron say,
    “His steadfast love endures forever.”
Let those who fear the Lord say,
    “His steadfast love endures forever.”
(Psalm 118:2-4)

Thank you, Lord, for all that you are, were and ever will be;
Your love endures forever.
Thank you, Lord, for the basis of time itself,
and your love that ceases never.

You are to be glorified among every nation and tribe;
Your name stands above all else.
Use our hands and feet to proclaim your name,
all for thee and none for self.

The mighty works that you have done cry out:
“Ever present and powerful is he.”
All rocks and streams and mountains tall,
and the recesses of the sea.

“Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
    the Lord answered me and set me free.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
    What can man do to me?
The Lord is on my side as my helper;
    I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.”
(Psalm 118:5-7)

Your children cry out to you by day and by night:
“Lord, how long will you wait.”
Then you arise from your holy mountain,
and all our worry abate.

You have blessed us near and blessed us far;
Who are we to receive?
Yet time and again you show your love,
to those you have redeemed.

O Lord, your steadfast love endures forever!
That we might triumphant stand.
For we have been taken from the world of darkness,
into your sheltering hand.

“It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in man.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in princes.”
(Psalm 118:8-9)

On whom can we so constantly depend?
Who can make your claim?
In no one else can we so put our trust,
no, there’s no other name.

You are the beginning and you are the end;
It is through you we rest.
In your name only do our souls depend,
we settle for no less.

“The Lord is my strength and my song;
    he has become my salvation.
Glad songs of salvation
    are in the tents of the righteous:
“The right hand of the Lord does valiantly,
    the right hand of the Lord exalts,
    the right hand of the Lord does valiantly!”
(Psalm 118:14-16)

Sing ‘Hallelujah’ to the King of kings;
For he is holy and true.
Sing ‘Hallelujah’ to the Lord of lords,
he has done much for you.

I will sing to you with all my heart;
I will sing with understanding.
I will praise you with my innermost soul,
your presence is demanding.

Lord, may it come that your will in all be done;
May every knee bow.
Let every tongue confess you as Lord,
Lord, remove the shroud.

You are my God, and I will give thanks to you;
    you are my God; I will extol you.
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    for his steadfast love endures forever!
(Psalm 118:28-29)

Thank you, Lord, for all that you are, were and ever will be;
Your love endures forever.
Thank you, Lord, for the basis of time itself,
and your love that ceases never.
