There is a way that seems right to man, but at its end is death,
Death that lures even the best of men to take their final breath.
Oh Lord protect us now, keep our souls from seductive sin,
Help us now, by your strong hand, for alone we will meet our end.

There is a way that seems right to man, but more wrong it could not be,
It speaks loud amongst the sons of man, billows or’e restless sea.
In its mouth is honey sweet, and a call to become enlightened,
A call that we could forever there be never, ever more frightened.

There is a way that seems right to man, many ways that effect us all,
Theres no man immune to them, no woman that can’t hear them call.
The more we think we could never be caught, it will surly be our lot,
Tighter we cling to the death’s false thought, without even a fight fought.

There is a way that seems right to man, a way that would make us blind,
Blind to wisdom, blind to undestanding, blind to thought divine.
It cries out lies of comfort and pleasure, but it’s end is a bitter snare,
Many still follow down the path leading surely to their own despair.

There is a way that seems right to man, granting pleasures for a time,
Promising hope and publishing peace, all while our souls unwind.
Its face is never devilish, its front is never unclean,
But when the delusion wears, then the truth is ever seen.

There is a way that seems right to man, and we all find it along the way,
It molds to our heart, settles in our brain, wanting forever to stay.
“This one’s on the house,” we say to our guest, our faithful friend,
More than willing are we now our hearts as houses to lend.

There is a way that seems right to man, but it is a cheating lie,
It calls out loud, so we can know that through it truth is nigh.
It comes from us, and its father, the father of lies himself,
And will bury us dead, without a thought, without a feeling felt.

There is a way that seems right to man, but another option is given,
The truth is there, breathed by the Holy one, for us who’s side riven.
Look and see! Expose the truth! Let Him be your guide,
In Him who reigns above, allow your heart to reside.

There is a way that seems right to man, but at its end is death.
I pray dear Lord that we might see, and be hidden in your cleft.
There is a way that seems right to man, but at its end is death.
I prat dear Lord that we might see, and be hidden safe in your cleft.
