“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars.
“‘I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God.Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you.”
(Revelation 3:1-3)
Move me.
Make me to become alive again.
Use me.
Come inside, and revive!
Make me to stand,
Where I want to ever fall.
Life me up,
Send forth Your call.
Help me.
Yet gently handle.
Beken forth Your wisdom,
Make me see.
Take from me,
Any apathy.
Let it never,
Be a part of me.
Encourage me,
When I am not strong.
Push me,
When the way is long.
Strengthen me.
Hold me fast within Your grasp.
Show me Your will,
And make mine Your own.
“And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation.
“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.”
(Revelation 3:14-19)
Wake me up!
You alone, Oh Lord,
Wake me up!
Open my eyes.
Change my heart,
This hard heart of mine.
Change, oh Lord,
Let it be ever Thine.
Open my heart,
And fill it up.
Be Thou my guide,
Fill my cup.
Fill it with You,
And what you would have me do.
Til it overflows, Lord,
My heart renew.
Sound your call,
And make me hear.
I hear it, Lord,
Oh draw me near!
Forgive me,
As I often stray,
I am not worthy,
To walk in the Way.
Ransom me,
Wash me clean,
For you have called,
And we are redeemed.
Now use me,
How You will,
Comfort me,
For I am afraid.
Scared of who, Lord,
Scared of You.
Scared of me,
And what I cannot do.
“Fear not,
For I am with you.
I have called you by name,
You are mine.”
Let it be, Lord,
Let it be so.
Guide me steadily,
Whithersoever I go.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”
(Revelation 3:20-22)
Night is falling,
Oh let it never be,
Shelter, Lord,
Do not let it encompass me.
Do not let me give up,
I don’t want to give in,
Draw closer, Lord,
And erase all sin.
To You, and You alone,
Let all praise be!
May you be glorified,
Over all land and sea.
Cause a revival,
And start with our hearts,
Let us cherish Your word,
And never, never depart.
Amen.
