About me.

My name is Walter Harrington and I was formerly a student director at the Christian Student Center just off of UTC’s campus. I graduated from UTC in May of 2014 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and went on to earn a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary biomedical sciences at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas in August of 2019. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at St. Jude studying the influenza A virus. I started this blog on January 1, 2014 in an effort to grow closer to the Almighty, and to try and help others do the same. I love to write, so I decided to use the talents that God has given me to glorify him. I could do nothing if he had not given me the ability, and for this ability I am thankful.

I hope this blog is a blessing in some way to you, as I long for each of our spiritual growth. I think it is very important to draw closer to God, as he will in turn draw closer to us (James 4:8). I plan to post devotional thoughts, whether they be short lessons, stories, poems or other another medium to glorify the Father. You can follow these posts on twitter . You can visit my personal website at walterharrington.com.

May the Lord bless you and keep you.

In Christian love and devotion,
Walter Harrington

“How beautiful upon the mountains
    are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness,
    who publishes salvation,
    who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”
The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice;
    together they sing for joy;
for eye to eye they see
    the return of the Lord to Zion.
Break forth together into singing,
    you waste places of Jerusalem,
for the Lord has comforted his people;
    he has redeemed Jerusalem.
The Lord has bared his holy arm
    before the eyes of all the nations,
and all the ends of the earth shall see
    the salvation of our God.”
(Isa. 52:7-10)

    Found just the sort of encouragement I needed this morning, reading your post on Psalm 51. Keep up the good work, brother.

    Thank you so much for using ur God given talent to inspire & build up fellow Christians like myself. The break down in explaining

    Our family has used your summaries as we’ve read through the OneYearBible. It is such a help before reading many of the OT books to get a general sense of their purpose before each section. We often talk about how helpful “Walter” is, and how “Walter” allowed us to understand certain chapters with his background information (though we know it’s the Holy Spirit who gives understanding). Thank you for helping us grow in the knowledge of God through His Word.
