“There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
All praise to the Father, who is of all, above all, through all and in all. Let us not forget the awesome power and might of the creator of the universe. Who are we, who are we to question him, to tell him what he should do? Who is the man who can tell God, the almighty, what is right and what is wrong? The Lord defines right. All else is wrong. The Lord defines truth. All else, no matter how it is viewed in society, is wrong.
Harsh words? I believe that it is spiritually healthy to remember our role in creation. We did not create God, but he us. God is not a humanoid God because he looks and acts like us, we are a God-like people because we have been formed in his image. What fear and awe he inspires! But too, what peace and joy this thought can bestow.
For if The Lord is for us, who can be against us? If we are children of God, what in the world can bestow fear? God is above all, though all and in all. There is nothing that can triumph God. Hallelujah! His peace is ours, for he loved us before the foundation of the world. Omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent. How great is our God.
Are you a child of God? There is good news. The bad news is this: we are all fallen, destined for destruction. Good news: Christ came to die, offering once and for all that perfect sacrifice for our sins. Have you been washed in his blood? Have you been united with him in baptism? Have you been raised, born again, not to corruptible seed, but incorruptible? Think on these things. Read the reading today, find out the plan, submit to his will. He will lead us home. This world is falling, will you be saved when it is all over?
